Design a floating dock — layout, floats, and materials.
Sketch the sections, and Dock Builder works out how the floats sit underneath, what lumber the frame and decking need, and what it all costs — then exports a plan you can build or permit from.
Lay out the dock the way it’ll be built
Drag out rectangular sections and triangular corner fills, rotate the whole layout to your shoreline, and snap pieces together so the joints line up. Add a gangway to shore, drop in a boat lift or PWC dock, and place cleats, ladders, lights, and bumpers where they go.
Float spacing, handled for you
Floating docks live or die on buoyancy and balance. Dock Builder applies the same float-placement rules builders use, so each section gets a sensible row layout for its length and width:
- Automatic float rows based on section length
- Float count across the width sized to keep spans reasonable
- Layout updates instantly as you resize a section
- Pilings or guide posts added where you want them
Materials and a price, from the same drawing
The frame (rim, joists, blocking), the decking cut-list, the floats, and the hardware all come straight off the drawing — in dimensional lumber or composite decking. Roll that take-off into a quote with your margin and tax, and you’ve gone from a sketch to a number without a spreadsheet.
